Out of a field of veteran drivers, Mount worked his way through the pack to take 2nd Place at the 2016 U.S. Majors Tour@ Road Atlanta. Mount once again brings the 2012 No. 7 Van Diemen in for a podium finish this afternoon. Mount with the help from the team at K-Hill Motorsports stayed consistent throughout the day to bring home the podium finish.

The Atlanta Region’s 2016 SCCA Club Racing season kicks-off with the second year of a race series that is bound to be exciting and competitive. The SCCA U.S. Majors Tour, (www.scca.com/events/index.cfm?eid=6551 ) a series of premium national events for top-tier drivers, makes it fourth stop of the year at Road Atlanta and should attract drivers from all over the East & West coast. This is the fourth stop of seven for the Eastern Conference (includes all of the east coast) drivers. This is one of only seven Majors weekends in the east where drivers can earn extra points to qualify for the SCCA National Championships (the Runoffs ®) held this year at Mazda Raceway, Laguna Seca outside of Monterey, California! Multiple National Champions will be competing in eight races on both Saturday and Sunday.
K-Hill’s Blake Mount, who won at Palm Beach, ran about four seconds behind in the early stages of the race as the two drivers lapped consistently around the Sebring facility. Mount went on to finish a respectable second!
Morning Qualifying: In the morning F2000 qualifying, K-Hill’s Blake Mount set the pace early by going to the provisional pole immediately in the session ahead of the pack. Mount eventually set the fastest lap of the session at 1:17.746 to take pole.
In the F2000 Championship Series, Blake Mount led from pole but went off on the opening lap that he was able to correct and go on to assume the lead to take the win for K-Hill Motorsports in the No. 7 Van Diemen.
“In F2000, aspiring racer Blake Mount will try to sweep the winter events for K-Hill as well. Although he will face renewed competition from Davy D’Addario, who was fastest in practice on Friday at Palm Beach, but did not start the race. One added entry for the weekend is Masters Class veteran Peter Gonzalez, in the No. 16 Radon/Zetec.
K-Hill will be going for a potential sweep in all three classes for the second straight weekend, as Ryan Norman dominated the Atlantic Championship Series in Palm Beach, and will look to continue his outright pace in the No. 48 Swift 016/Mazda.
Sebring is the final of two Winter Exhibition events hosted by Formula Race Promotions in February. Running back-to-back. the events provide track time and a pre-season atmosphere for teams looking to get a bit of extra testing in under the Florida sun. The points-paying, seven-weekend season starts at Road Atlanta, April 7-10.”
